thankful

For years I thought I wanted you
had something my mind held on to
special I thought I saw in you
a truth that seemed to escape you

Life chose to reconnect we two
although I was not ready to
I met reality of you

As a result we are now through
despite that I still manage to
give thanks for meeting the real you
